NBA Power Rankings, Edition 2

Still in a suit, the Wizards need John Wall (and Nene) back in the lineup. Getty Images

Last Monday, I posted the inaugural Broom on the Warpath NBA Power Rankings. Here's the second edition.

The power rankings are based on a combination of scoring differential, four-factor analysis, and strength of schedule. I set the top score to 100 and scale other teams below to give a sense of how far each squad is from the league's best.

Expect more volatility early in the season as the league sorts itself out. As more games get played, the rankings should begin to stabilize.

The Knicks maintained their hold on the league's top spot, though the margin has narrowed considerably.

In the "no surprise" category, the Wizards rank dead last this week, dropping one spot. The team hasn't won a game, and they have the second worst scoring differential while playing the league's third easiest schedule. They need John Wall and Nene back in the lineup.
